
Gloucester Green Bus Station is the main bus station in Oxford. It is a 5 minute walk from the city centre. Buses leave from here to London, Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted and other national destinations. Most buses do not take credit cards so make sure you have enough cash. All major bus companies including National Express, Megabus and Stagecoach operate from Oxford Bus Station. The bus service between London and Oxford is excellent and runs up to every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day. You can book a return fare for just 1.50 GBP each way (including booking fee of 50p each way). To get the cheapest fares you need to book in advance, with Megabus you will be travelling on the Oxford Tube.

There are regular bus services from Oxford Gloucester Green bus station to all London airports, Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stanstead. These routes are mainly operated by National Express, to get the cheapest fares you need to book online in advance. National Express also provide routes to most national destinations from Oxford.
The majority of local buses start in the City Centre, Gloucester Green Bus Station, George Street, Magdalen Street, Queen Steet and the High Street. There are two main bus companies operating in Oxford, Oxford Bus Company and Stagecoach. All the bus companies in Oxford now work together and offer a single travel pass for all buses called the Oxford Smart Zone.
