Museums in Oxford

Although Oxford is most famous for the University and its colleges it is worth spending some time looking around some of its museums. The most popular is the Pitt Rivers Museum located close to the University Parks which is a natural history museum with dinosaurs and other curiosities including the rather bizarre shrunken human heads! It is free to get in and has something for all the family!

If you are a true culture vulture you might prefer the Ashmolean Museum. This has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment and contains artefacts collected by the University from all over the world.
